Jonesboro, AR Flashover Video

Jonesboro AR Firefighters arrive to a working house fire with reported trapped occupants. The attack and search crew entered the front and during the search for the fire and occupants, one of the front rooms flashed. An evacuation signal was issued and all firefighters exited the building. No one was home and there were no report of injuries. This is another excellent training video!

Beaumont Texas Firefighters Injured in Flashover

Beaumont Texas Firefighters were caught in this flashover while fighting a house fire. The video shows several firefighters, including those injured, escaping the house. The firefighters were injured because of a flashover. The most seriously injured firefighter, 27 year old Cody Schroeder remains at U.T.M.B at Galveston.

A Beaumont firefighter is in stable condition following skin graft surgery for burns he received in a house fire, while a second firefighter who was burned has been released from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Cody Schroeder underwent several hours of surgery Tuesday at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.

Firefighter Schroeder received burns to about 40% of his body, primarily his back and lower body. It was estimated the burns covered 34% of his body.  He received burns to his face. Kirk Blanchard, Jeff Nesom and Pete Johnson all had minor burns. They were treated Monday at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth and released. James Blanchard received a back injury and wasn’t hospitalized.  No one was home at the time of the fire. The woman who lives in the home told us her son had left for school and she had left for the grocery store at about 8:30 a.m. with her one year old grandson just before the fire was reported at about 8:45 a.m. Investigators have determined the cause of the fire was a small space heater sitting too close to a bed.

Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota Mini Van Explosion

This video is from Minneapolis-St. Paul from their Highway Division. This is a standard fully involved minivan with NO modifications. The traffic cams were able to pick this up from two angles. The video shows vividly what can happen with an exploding gas tank. Exploding gas tanks on cars are a RARE thing and most people will never see one in their career. That said, we should NEVER let down our guard! Had the crews  been advancing a line on this car, one would hope they had on their FULL protective gear!  As it turned out, Fire Rescue and PD arrived about 4 minutes after the video took place. Watch closely the white tractor trailer in the second photo angle -Before and After the explosion.  What if that were your engine arriving??? This same incident could occur any day.  Think about it!!!  Are we always ready - at ALL times???? There is NO sound in this video.

Baltimore City, Md. Firefighter Escapes Flashover by Bail Out

This BCFD firefighter is on the 2nd floor of a 2 story rowhouse fire and luckily crews were ventilating and had a ground ladder in place. He bails out head first and is guided down by another firefighter. Crews quickly knocked the fire down from the interior.

Just Another Routine House Fire Right???

A firefighter without gear sizes up a dwelling fire before the 1st pumper arrives and as he walks back to the front of the house, a backdraft / smoke explosion occurs which almost injures him. This video shows the dangers we face everyday on what we would consider a "routine" house fire.

Minneapolis Firefighter Bailout Saves His Life

Austin, Tx. Firefighter Grateful For His Turnout Gear!

Sparks from cutting metal and spilled fuel don’t mix. It looks like the issue could have been caused by some fuel spilled on the ground (during refueling) or from a leaking fuel cap.
