We offer a wide variety of firefighter and technical rescue courses that are NFPA compliant and Internationally accredited (IFSAC & Pro-Board) via the NC State Fire Marshall’s Office. In order to receive fee exemption for these courses, students must be an active member of a rescue squad or fire department within N.C.

Our North Carolina Office of the State Fire Marshall courses are delivered either as a “Series or Block” or can be delivered as individual courses. All NCOSFM courses are accredited programs with the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or Pro BOard Fire service Professional Qualification Systems. All course are also compliant with related National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA) standards. What this means to you are the safest and highest quality instruction that students may utilized certifications throughout the international and military fire & rescue service.

For North Carolina Fire & Rescue responders: : All courses are free (fee exempt)
Out of State Students: There is an out of state course fee for each course.

The NCCCS Blue Sheet is provided to colleges as a handy reference of courses with the following prefixes:

• FIP – Fire and Rescue
• WLF – Wildland Fire
• EPT – Emergency Management
• EME – Emergency Services

The Blue Sheet, which is updated periodically, is provided by the NCCCS Public Safety Training Team for training purposes and general guidance only. The official sources for state certification information are the associated state agencies listed in the Blue Sheet. The official source for NCCCS course information is the Combined Course Library (CCL) found at http://www.nccommunitycolleges.edu/academicprograms/combined-course-library.

If information in the Blue Sheet contradicts information from the

NC Technical Rescue (TR) Certification Courses

NFPA 1006 Standard for Technical Rescuer Professional Qualifications 2013 Edition

• Effective 1/1/16, the former TR General and TR Ropes programs were combined into the new TR program above.
• The current TR Ropes Courses FIP-5800 thru FIP-5807 are still in use.
• Per OSFM Regional Update Letter – October 2017: TR Ropes Sunset Date was Removed. TR Ropes will continue to be offered until the next rewrite of TR programs.
